In The Midst of Rain, She Remembered Her Love – HER CIVIL ENGINEER

It was 5 p.m.; she left her office and was going back to her home. On her way she was enjoying the breeze before the rain. After few minutes the drizzle started. She was watching the rain drops hitting the side windows of the car. Scrolling her love’s pictures on her mobile and feeling the weather, she was missing him. It was already a period, she didn’t meet him. The lovingness of being in his arms was the major missing for her. New city and her first rain experience without him made difficult for her to stop thinking about him.

The driver left her nearby a petrol pump from where she had to walk 100 meters to reach her home. While walking, she was looking down towards the slide lanes of the road accumulated with rain water. She remembered her conversation with him. If you are in love with a civil engineer you can easily make out that before you being in his life, his first and last love is cement, bricks, buildings and engineering concepts. The most beautiful memories an engineer can have is his love for engineering and his engineering days.  She was use to listen all the concepts and stories of her engineer. He was happy in explaining them to her and she was happy in listening to him.  That evening she was sitting beside him and he was grilling the engineers who constructed that road. He was again and again telling her that they had made  mistakes while construction. People don’t know how to work properly. She was listening to him and consoling him fine it happens. As usual for her, she knew in a short span she might be learning some new concepts. She always felt with him as if she has completed her half engineering and only practical sessions are left.

Finally he started off with his lecture and the question- answer session. Do you know how the leveling of the surface is done? As usual she was a fresher in this field learning slowly, she said a no. He explained, “This is screeding. It’s a concrete used to form a level surface. To encase under floor heating pipes screeding is done. The screed mixture is made up of cement and water.” Do you know a standard ratio is maintained while designing? What happens to a student when he or she does not know what to answer, you find a poker face. Same happened with her no answer and a blank face waiting for him to answer his question. The ratio of 1:4 is maintained for mix design. Next question- Have you ever thought how this rainwater on roads goes to side lanes and does not get accumulated? Answer was just check the gradual downward slope from the center of a road to each side of it. This is camber. Already she was listening to him but wanted to stop. While he was speaking she moved her face towards her and kissed. Time to shut his mouth, by her kisses.

While rewinding her memories, suddenly she realized the rain had stopped and she reached her home. It was the time to call her love and eat his mind by telling him with what she had done in her office.
